October celebrated as Industrial Appreciation Month

Lincolnton Mayor David Black and Lincoln County Commission Chair Tom Anderson proclaimed the month of October 2008 as “Industry Appreciation Month”, the intent being to show existing businesses our appreciation for the many positive economic and social contributions they have made to Lincoln County. Barry Matherly, Executive Director of LEDA, commented, “These industries have brought to this area some of the highest paying jobs in the region. We are extremely appreciative to all the businesses and industries in Lincoln County for their invaluable contributions to the economic success of Lincoln County and for their commitments to its bright future.” Events celebrating the month included a luncheon for industry, a tour of Blum, Inc., an international dessert reception in honor of the many countries represented by Lincoln industries and the annual forklift rodeo.
