Lincoln County’s 2023 economic successes: $231 M surge in investments, 604 new jobs

Lincoln County experienced a transformative period in 2023, witnessing an impressive $231 million commitment in announcements and expansions and the creation of 604 new jobs.

Announcements

An announcement by New Jersey-based Hospitality Seating Concepts has stirred excitement as they channel $6.6 million into a former manufacturing facility in Lincolnton, NC. The venture, set to create 20 jobs in its initial phase, contributes to the county’s growing employment landscape. Adding to the momentum, German-owned Wanzl announced a new North American headquarters and warehousing facility in Denver’s Lincoln Commerce Center, taking an available 98,000 sf facility off the market. A notable investment of over $10 million also anticipates adding 30 additional HQ jobs, fortifying Wanzl’s commitment to the region.

The standout success story of 2023 is the historic expansion announced by the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation. This monumental project involves an initial capital investment of $130 million, creating 233 new jobs over the next five years. The construction of a dedicated 325,000-square-foot facility underscores Bosch’s commitment to serving industrial, professional, and do-it-yourself sectors in North America. Simultaneously, expansions by Huber Technologies and Unox in Airlie Business Park, alongside other growth announcements, contribute to the county’s flourishing economic landscape.

New product assets

Crescent Communities’ acquisition of a 25-acre site adds a feather to Lincolnton’s cap, with plans for a 174,720-square-foot industrial speculative building, available for lease or sale in the Lincoln County Industrial Park located off Highway 321. LEDA’s acquisition of options on a nearby 30-acre site, also in Lincolnton, hints at another promising opportunity for industrial development.

Crow Holdings’ Lincoln Commerce Center in Denver is rapidly evolving, with significant progress on all buildings in the first phase. The largest facility, covering 534,087 square feet, is nearing completion, while a 367,886-square-foot facility is making substantial headway.

Exciting developments unfold at the Riverbend Preserve, a multi-jurisdictional industrial park, with crucial zoning and development agreement approvals by Lincoln and Gaston counties. Thanks to $18.55 million in funding from the North Carolina General Assembly for infrastructure, installation of needed water and sewer will soon begin.

Positioned for success
