Lincoln Tallies Its Race Suppliers

Would all motor sports suppliers in Lincoln County please start their engines – or at least give a call to the Lincoln Economic Development Association? The association is working on a motor sports business directory and wants to hear from companies with connections to NASCAR and other racing related ventures. “We want to see what we have here to see if there’s any potential marketing or recruiting opportunity there,” says Laura Foor, existing business coordinator with the economic development group. Foor will send a draft of the directory to the companies later this month to verify information gathered so far. Denver appears to be Lincoln County’s home for racing suppliers. Body Dynamics Racing Bodies Inc. fabricates racecar shells there. Stockcar Challenge Series, which recycles NASCAR racecars, is also based in Denver. Foor doesn’t expect Lincoln to rival Mooresville or Cabarrus County as a racing hotbed. Still, she says, “There are some interesting things here. We’re just trying to get it all down on paper.”
