Local Industries Come Together to Seek Employees
There is one thing most industries in the Lincoln County Industrial Park have in common and that is a “Help Wanted” sign in front of their building. With the unemployment rate in Lincoln County at an all-time low, there is a shortage of good, skilled labor. Many companies were realizing that the employee pool was coming from employees of other industries in the same park. Many of these companies were hosting individual job fairs with limited success. It was suggested that they all come together and do one large job fair at a centralized location and pool their efforts. Under the coordination of John Dancoff, Existing Business Manager of Lincoln Economic Development Association, over ten companies from within the fourteen-company industrial park will be participating in a Job Fair on Saturday, June 23rd from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Prospective employees can come out and see what each of these companies have to offer. The companies will be set up in trade show style so to not only talk to candidates, but show them samples of what they manufacture. Dancoff said “Even if you’re not actively searching for a job, it would be a great chance to come out and see what these companies do and what products are actually made here in Lincoln County.”
The hope is this Job Fair will attract some candidates that may be traveling out of Lincoln County each day and may realize we have some great opportunities right here. There may be some that are underemployed that also are not aware of or normally have the time to seek other employment to better themselves. This will be a way of seeing several great companies in a short period of time.
