LEDA Hosts Tenth Annual Milestone Achievement Awards
Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln Economic Development Association celebrated the combined achievements of longevity and success with local businesses at the annual Milestone Achievement Awards Luncheon held Thursday, March 27th. Recognizing nineteen manufacturers and distributors from all Lincoln County, the companies were recognized for their past, present and future commitment to the community.
Bo King, Lincoln Economic Development Association Board Chair hosted the event. Those present to assist in the recognition of the Milestone Achievement Recipients for this year and special guests were, County Manager, Tracy Jackson and Mayor John Gilleland.
Those industries present to receive their 2014 Milestone Achievement Awards: Magna Tech, Sennebogen and Spantek, 5 years; Industrial Hard Carbon and RW Garcia, 10 years; Crawford Composites, 15 years; Actavis, 25 years; Blum, Inc. and The Timken Company, 35 years; Leonard Automatics, 45 years and Haynes Dairy is celebrating 100 years in Lincoln County.
In addition to the awards that were presented at the ceremony, others reaching milestones this year include: Ostec Industries and Tri-Star Plastics, 5 years; CX Systems and UCS, Inc, 10 years; Virginia –Carolina Refractory and Universal Rubber Products, 25 years; Aqua North America and NC Spinning, 50 years.
Bo King, Chair, Lincoln Economic Development Association commented, “Today’s recognition of the 19 Lincoln County industries who have achieved a milestone in their business operation was very impressive. Their combined years of operation totaled 470. Can you imagine what that equates to in jobs, payroll and property taxes for our community? Congratulations and continued success to all of them in the future!”
Tracy Jackson, County Manager, said in his comments “Lincoln County is proud of the commitment and achievements made by the Milestone Achievement Award recipients. We wish each of these businesses continued success and prosperity.”
Lincolnton’s Mayor, John Gilleland offered, “Lincolnton is very fortunate to have such a strong business community providing many jobs and opportunities for our citizens. It is great to have them in Lincolnton and Lincoln County helping to make this a wonderful place to live.”
“The Milestone Appreciation Celebration is a perfect opportunity to recognize industries for their hard work and dedication. It takes a tremendous effort to be successful in today’s economic climate. For these industries to have survived for five, ten and an amazing one hundred years, is significant. We don’t want their success to be overlooked,” said Kara Brown, Existing Business Manager with LEDA.
