LEDA host, Lincoln County School’s “Educators in the Workplace” Industry Tours

On Thursday, August 1st, LEDA was proud to host, Lincoln County School’s “Educators in the Workforce”. Thirty-three Math and Science teachers along with GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math & Science) sponsors were treated to a full day of industrial plant tours.

The educators toured Blum, Active Concepts, and Bosch. They were also treated to lunch and a presentation and overview of “Edge Factor”, a video format using story driven tools to tackle workforce development and bring real life stories into the classroom. The objective of the tour was to expose teachers to how STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) are used everyday in our industrial workplaces. As well as opening their eyes to careers available to their students right here in Lincoln County.
