Kara Brown Promoted To Business Development Manager

The Lincoln Economic Development Association is proud to announce Kara Brown as our new Business Development Manager. Kara has performed very successfully in the role of Existing Business Manager at LEDA for over six years where she worked to assist with numerous endeavors in addition to dozens of industrial expansion projects. Her dedication, skills, and enthusiasm brought her focus area to new heights, including national recognition by the International Economic Development Council in Fall of 2014.

Dr. Jim Watson, LEDA Chairman, stated, “We are very fortunate to have someone with Kara’s abilities that can step up to this opportunity. She has demonstrated passion for her work and a deep commitment to LEDA and our organization’s mission.

A longtime resident of Lincoln County, graduate of Lincoln County Schools and Appalachian State University, Kara will oversee new industry recruitment along with continuing to foster progressive workforce and talent development activities. In order to continue the growth of a diversified tax base and the creation of jobs, she will be working diligently to market Lincolnton and Lincoln County to world class industries seeking a proper home in North Carolina. Her strong relationship within the region and the state with other economic development partners will be a great asset in her new role. LEDA is proud of her past success, and greatly looks forward to her coming accomplishments in her new position.
