Hampton Inn planned in Lincolnton

The Lincoln Economic Development Association is working with Touchstone Hospitality Inc. on plans for a 71-room Hampton Inn Hotel in Lincolnton.

Greenwood, S.C.-based Touchstone Hospitality would build the hotel on Roper Road and own it.

The facility would feature a fitness center, a pool and a business center. It would offer complimentary breakfast, free local telephone calls and free in-room movies.

Ninety-five percent of rooms will be designated as nonsmoking.

The project requires approval from Virginia-based Hilton Worldwide, parent company of Hampton Inn, and the city of Lincolnton. Those approvals are expected by mid-May.

Lincoln Economic Development Association is a nonprofit corporation that promotes industrial and commercial development in Lincoln County.
