Expansion of Industrial Parks for Lincolnton, Denver Approved

In Lincoln County, two industrial park projects should move ahead after county commissioners gave each the ok on Monday. Commissioners unanimously approved the rezoning of 49 acres for the expansion of the Lincoln County Industrial Park. The land is south of Hatchett Road and east of US 321. The Lincoln Economic Development Association had asked to expand the industrial park, now about 550 acres, north of Lincolnton after recent announcements of new and expanded facilities. Yet another expansion, the Crate&Barrel distribution center, was announced Monday. Commissioners also unanimously approved a proposed 56-acre business park in Denver, east of NC 16 near Mundy Road. Balsom Ridge will have to install special storm-water controls because the land is in the watershed for the Catawba River and Lake Norman.
