Engine Manufacturer to locate in Lincoln County NC

Engine Manufacturer to locate in Lincoln County NC

Denver Global Products officially makes Lincoln County home

Lincoln County, NC – After many months of negotiations Chongqing RATO Power Company Ltd., a global manufacturer of small engines, and its subsidiary company Denver Global Products, Inc., have officially chosen Lincoln County as home.

After announcing in February that Lincoln County would be the home of its North American headquarters, Chongqing RATO Power Company Ltd., and Denver Global Products (DGP) are officially announcing that Lincoln County has also been chosen as the location of the North American manufacturing, product development and engineering and testing facilities.

The company received and reviewed extremely competitive proposals from both Georgia and South Carolina, but eventually decided that Lincoln County NC provided the best fit for the overall goals and objectives of the company. The company management team worked closely with David Spratley, project manager with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Lincoln Economic Development Association and other state and local representatives to put together a project package of grants and incentives that could meet the needs of the company.

RATO and Denver Global Products are currently operating from a temporary facility in the Lincoln County Industrial Park but work will now begin on selecting a site for the permanent facilities, with construction of the administrative and engineering offices to begin in early 2013. The company has plans to hire 450 employees over a four year period.

Roger Leon, President, Denver Global Products ” “This announcement came from the strong partnerships developed between Denver Global Products management team, the state of North Carolina, Lincoln County and Lincoln Economic Development Association. We appreciate the support from all involved and that support will be a major part of our success.”

“What a great day in Lincoln County, we are truly excited to learn that RATO will build their manufacturing plant here in Lincoln County. Despite our nations challenging economic times, companies still see the value of North Carolina and specifically Lincoln County. We take great pride in our low taxes, our quality of life, our educational system, and our skilled workforce among many other qualities. Lincoln County has transformed from a textile and furniture town to a community that is now home to corporations from all around the world. We welcome Denver Global Products and RATO to our family and look forward to a long and great relationship.

We are even more excited for the opportunities this presents to our citizens to start on a new career path with RATO here in Lincoln County. We would like to thank the Governor and the Dept of Commerce for their work as well as our Lincoln Economic Development Association for all their efforts in making today a reality.” Alex Patton, Chairman, Lincoln County Board of Commissioners.

“This decision by Denver Global Products, Inc and RATO Power Company, Ltd is the culmination of an extremely competitive process over a period of approximately two years. From the beginning, several states vigorously competed for this project. We are very pleased they have determined that Lincoln County is the place where their needs would be best served. This success would not have been possible without the full cooperation of the North Carolina Department of Commerce; Lincoln County elected officials and staff, the extremely hard work of the Lincoln Economic Development Associations staff and the commitment of Denver Global and RATO to work through this complex and demanding process. We welcome Denver Global and RATO to Lincoln County and know they will find Lincoln County a business friendly community as they join our existing business community in the coming years. We appreciate the employment and growth opportunities this new business will offer to the citizens of Lincoln County in these very challenging economic times.” says, Tom Anderson, Chairman, Lincoln Economic Development Association.

Crystal Gettys, Interim Director/Business Development Manager, Lincoln Economic Development Association ” “It has certainly been a pleasure working with Denver Global Products and their management team; this is a huge win for Lincoln County and we are proud to have them join our existing industry base.
