The City of Lincolnton and Lincoln County have officially declared the week of April 11, 2004 as Business Appreciation Week in the city and county. This event will be a weeklong celebration to thank business and industry for their presence and commitment to the community.

Tuesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 15, 2004 have been selected as industry open house days. Those attending the open houses will get the rare opportunity to view the manufacturing and distribution processes of locally made products. Blum, Inc. is an international company that manufacturers high-end hinge, drawer and rollout systems as well as assembly devices for cabinetry. Blum is located at 7733 Old Plank Road in east Lincoln County. The facility tour will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, Lincolnton Distribution Center will host Thursday’s open house. This tour will give individuals the opportunity to view the packaging and distribution operations of hand tools and power tool accessories. Bosch Distribution Center is located at 1980 Indian Creek Road. The facility tour will begin at 2:00 p.m.

The facility tours of Blum and Bosch are open to the public, free of charge. These industries have graciously agreed to host these events in order to give the public an exclusive opportunity to learn more about the manufacturing and distribution processes of products that are made in Lincoln County. The public is encouraged to take advantage of this rare opportunity and attend these facility tours.

All chamber members are invited to honor their staff at the Annual Staff Appreciation Day Luncheon on Wednesday, April 14, 2004. The luncheon will be held at the James W.
