Big Dog hold Ribbon Cutting

Big Dog Holdings, Inc. celebrated April 17, 2007 with a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting led by Lincoln Economic Development Association. LEDA’s Board Chairman, Jr. Howard and Chairman of Lincoln County Commissioners, Tom Anderson each spoke and welcomed the company to Lincoln County. John Wood, Senior Vice President of Big Dog shared company background and aspirations with the crowd of over one hundred employees, community officials, special guests and company officials who gathered to celebrate the Grand Opening of Big Dog and Walking Shoe Company in the Lincoln County Industrial Park. The company occupies a new 229,000 square foot distribution center. The company invested $10.5 million and provides 100 jobs. The company operates Big Dogs and The Walking Company. It develops, markets and retails a branded, lifestyle collection of unique, high-quality, popular-priced consumer products, including active wear, casual sportswear, accessories and gifts. The company is based in Santa Barbara, California and expects the facility to expand to 400,000 square feet by 2012. Big Dog is known for marketing slogans such as “If You Can’t Run with the Big Dogs, Stay on the Porch.” This slogan was apparent at the Ribbon Cutting as each employee touted one and each guest attending the Ribbon Cutting received the same tee shirt and pen as a gift. The large crowd enjoyed the celebratory cake and visitors were allowed the grand tour led by John Wood, Senior Vice President of Big Dog.
