LEDA Celebrates Industry Milestones

DSC00096_smallLincolnton, NC –” Lincoln Economic Development Association hosted its eighth annual Milestone Achievement Awards Luncheon on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Lincolnton Cultural Center; recognizing manufacturers, distributors and the motor sports industry in the City of Lincolnton and Lincoln County for their past, present and future commitment to the County. Present to assist in the recognition of the Milestone Achievement Recipients for this year and special guests were, Chairman of the Lincoln County Commissioners, Alex Patton and Mayor of the city of Lincolnton, John Gilleland. Those industries present to receive their 2012 Milestone Achievement Awards: UTC Climate, Controls and Security, 5 years; Cataler North America, 10 years; American Tire, Calico Coatings and Performance Research, 15 years; Lawing Marble and South Fork Industries, 25 years; Katie Wood Incorporated, 30 years; and Mohican Mills, 60 years. In addition to the awards that were presented at the ceremony there were others who achieved this milestone as well. Carolina Non-Wovens, Race City Steel, Purr Performance and Room and Board, 5 years; Allied Separation, 10 years; Sponsor Services, 15 years; Acton Engineering, 25 years; Bob’s Pallet, 30 years; Lincoln County Fabricators, Salem Industries and Thornburg Machine, 40 years. Tom Anderson, Chair, Lincoln Economic Development Association commented, “Twenty industries in Lincoln County are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year. Whether it is a five year recognition or fifty years, each has a story to tell of success. It is an honor to be able to present these awards to these committed and dedicated companies.” Alex Patton, chair of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners, emphasized the importance of the industries in Lincoln County. “Without you being here, we would not have a reason to celebrate today. Thank you for your commitment to Lincoln County.” “It is a pleasure to see so many peers from the industrial community and business members here to extend their well wishes and support to the Milestone recipients. A lot of hard work has gone into the success of these industries.
