Industry Appreciation Month in Lincoln County was recognized Tuesday, October 18th by industry and the community with an open house and facility tour at Sabo USA. Located in the Lincoln County Industrial Park since 2007, Sabo specializes in sealing technologies most specifically applicable in the automotive industry. Sabo USA Vice President, Reinaldo Panico Peres was host to the group and presented an overview of Sabo to the tour attendees. Mr. Peres introduced Sabo USA as a member of the Brazilian, family-owned, Sabo Group. Originally founded in 1942, today Sabo Group has grown to be a multinational company with net revenue of 0 million in US dollars. A world leader in multiple areas of automotive expertise, Sabo USA in Lincoln County specifically produces rotating shaft seals, as well as, rod and piston seals and accounts for million US dollars in sales. Sabo Group has set a global vision of becoming a 0 million company within the next five years. Through careful planning and positioning, Sabo has determined its strategic drivers to help them achieve this goal. Panico Peres explained Sabo first determined the necessity of being close to the decision makers as key to its success and established a US presence in the state of Michigan beginning in 1993. Since then, Sabo has seen the importance of expanding its US operations and chose to locate a manufacturing facility in a cost efficient area of the country; hence Sabo USA in Lincoln County. Included in the strategy to achieve Sabo Group’s vision, is the importance of local resourcing and strong supply chain management. Mr. Peres explained Sabo USA has been very successful in its ability to locate the supplies necessary for production and has secured eighty percent of its materials domestically; many of them within the state of North Carolina. Sabo USA manufactures and ships to customer locations within the US and to parts all over the world including Poland, Korea, Mexico and China. At the Lincoln County facility, Sabo employs 120 people. Sabo Group worldwide employs over 3400 people worldwide.
